TERMS & CONDITIONS
Please read through our T&Cs BEFORE choosing to hire with Rare Rentals! By hiring an item, it will be assumed that you have read our T&C’s prior and you are automatically signing off on these T&Cs.
Rare Rentals will hold all customers accountable to our T&Cs to ensure we continue providing great service and products to all our future and returning clients.
Rare Rentals reserves the right to modify any T&Cs, at any time.
BOOKING PROCESS
To book an outfit, please DM our Instagram and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
All hires must be paid for in full at time of booking to secure the outfit for your date.
Please notify us if you are to change your Instagram handle, to ensure we are able to trace your booking. A credit note will be offered in circumstances where notice of such changes is not provided. Refunds will not be available.
HIRE PERIOD
The standard weekend hire period is 4 days (3 nights), (e.g received on Friday – posted back on Monday (next business day)). A standard weekday hire period is 3 days (2 nights), (e.g received on a Wednesday - posted back Friday).
I am happy to arrange an extended hire period, costing $15 extra per each day, to a maximum of 10 days. Please note, notice must be provided prior to payment.
POSTAGE
Return express postage is available Australia wide! If this is chosen, $30 will be added to the rental cost. Tracking will be provided once the items are sent. The return postage bag is included for your convenience!
All return post hires must be lodged at the post office with a time stamped tracking receipt provided to us. This must be lodged over the counter before 4pm the next business day after your hire & a lodgement receipt must be sent via dm to @rarerentals_.
If return tracking details are not provided to us and the package does not arrive, you will be charged the full RRP of the garment to replace it.
Please do not post your return in a red or yellow street box. We get notified by Australia Post if this occurs and late fees will apply.
Unfortunately, it is beyond our control if Australia Post are experiencing delays & you do not receive your item in time. In this case, Rare Rentals will not offer a refund.
ISSUES UPON RECEIVING YOUR GARMENT(S)
Refunds are offered in the case where an item is received by the rentee damaged &/or stained beyond wearability and we are notified immediately. Items must be returned the same day they are received, and remain unworn for your event to qualify for a refund. Choosing to wear an item means you accept the item in this condition and waive the right to refund. There are no other cases where posted/collected rentals will be refunded.
Partial refunds may be offered if a garment is received in a wearable condition but with an unlisted flaw beyond the scope of general wear & tear. Please contact us immediately upon receiving your garment if it comes with a minor defect that we have not pre-listed. We will assess the situation and determine compensation that is suitable.
PICK UPS
Pick ups are from our space in Fitzroy North. We will notify you when your hire is ready for collection.
The exact address will be provided 2 days prior to pick up and once payment has been made in full.
RETURNS
Pickup returns must be dropped back to our home studio in Fitzroy North by 6pm on the last day of your hire period. Should this time frame not be suitable for you, this must be discussed and alternative arrangements agreed upon at the time of the booking.
Postage hires will be supplied with a prepaid express parcel for you to return the garment in. This must be lodged at an Aus Post office before 4PM the next business day after your event. The return must not be dropped in any red/yellow street post box, they must be lodged over the counter & a lodgement receipt must be sent via dm to @rarerentals_.
For every day the garment is returned back late, unless return details have been agreed upon prior, the hiree will incur a late fee of $15 per day, regardless of the situation. If the garment is returned late by more then 3 days and it results in the cancellation of another clients booking, you will be required to cover the dress hire cost (but will not be charged the $15 per day late fee). This policy ensures we have adequate time to prepare the garment(s) for the next hire, and do cause additional hassle for other clients.
BONDS
A bond of $50 will be taken at the time of the event, to cover the cost of repairs should they need to incur. Bond will not be refunded if the item is damaged or returned late.
Bond will be refunded via bank transfer if the item is returned on time in the same condition it was given in & all T&Cs are met. All bond returns are processed weekly on a Wednesday.
All local weekend hires must be returned by end of day Wednesday to receive their bond be back on the Thursday, provided the outfit is returned in good condition.
All postage hires that are received back by the Thursday, will receive their bond back on the Thursday, provided the outfit is returned in good condition. If for whatever reason, I have not received your hire back by the Wednesday (eg. Weekday hire, postage delays, alternate arrangement made prior), you will receive your bond back the following Thursday. If you return your hire back late without notifying us, you may incur a late fee / loss of bond.
CLEANING & DAMAGES
Some garments are dry cleaned between every hire. Which is included in the cost of the garment hire.

If your hire includes dry cleaning, you will only be charged an additional fee if damage is excessive & requires additional cleaning methods.

If your hire does not include dry cleaning, that means it is cleaned using appropriate methods myself (as instructed by my dry cleaners). For these garments, if any stains/marks cannot be removed, they will be professionally cleaned and the fee for which will be deducted from the bond.
If the cleaning/repair costs are more than the bond fee, the rentee must pay the difference in costs to repair it.
If the damage is beyond repair, the rentee must pay the full RRP of the item on top of the hire price they have already paid.
Please do not attempt to wash or alter the garments during your hire period unless instructed to do so (as this may cause damage to the garment). If I believe that the garment has been altered during your hire period, either a repair fee will be deducted from the bond or full retail price must be paid to replace the garment.
If the damage is irreversible and cannot be repaired without hindering the appearance of the dress, full retail price must be paid to replace the garment (this also applies for try on appointments). Whether or not damage is irreversible is decided by dry cleaners/tailor (ie. they will notify me of any stains/pulls etc. that cannot be removed), not the renter.
Please notify me immediately if any damage is caused during your hire, do not wait until you have dropped it off. This way we can figure out the best way to have it repaired (if possible) in time for future bookings.
If a garment is stolen or damaged beyond repair and the customer is not corporative in replacing the garment, legal action will be taken against the customer.
CANCELLATIONS
Cancellations to your booking we be provided with a store credit of the hire fee, given we are notified 1 week prior to the event date. Late notifications will be charged a 50% cancellation fee for the booking.
As try-ons are available, refunds if an item doesn’t fit cannot be offered. If you are unable to try on the outfit due to being interstate, you accept the risk that the garment may not fit to your liking.
If would like to swap a pre-existing booking with another garment, I am more than happy to swap it! However, if the new rental price is less than the original price a refund for the difference cannot be provided, and the difference is higher wit will need to be paid for. Items cannot be swapped once they are picked up.
GARMENT CONDITION
Items with small flaws, or imperfections that we aware of will be listed in the 'Garment Condition' description on their product page. No refunds will be offered for renting items with listed imperfections as these have been acknowledged before renting the item. We are more than happy to offer photos or describe imperfections upon request.
Please keep in mind that Rare Rentals is a rental business so our garments are not all in brand new condition. General wear will be present and there may be minor wearable faults or variations to some garments due to being worn so many times. Expected wear & tear for a rental garment includes things such as micropulls, small loose threads, minor knicks to fabric, stitching knicks, and small or unobvious markings. Refunds will not be issued for such circumstances.
I do our best to make note of any significant wear and tear in garment condition descriptions. Cleaning and repairs are always done to the best of our ability but changes to the garment's condition can always occur between booking and your hire date.
